Almost half of the UK’s small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) say it will be difficult to pay their energy bills when the current Government support ends in April. Reducing energy usage doesn’t have to mean spending a lot, though. Businesses can make savings through low to medium-cost measures such as replacing lights with LEDs, installing PIR sensors or encouraging employees to change their behaviour. In a survey by NatWest Group, 87% of SMEs said they didn’t know where to start in measuring their carbon emissions. They cited a lack of skills, knowledge, and most importantly, a lack of time.
